Two Words I Want to Know:
1. Common use word:
-God, stands for a high power and goodness of the world.
2. Word I’m interested in:
-Death, means the end of everything or the cause of death.

God and death are two words that humans give meanings that make little sense. The Christian religion persuaded people to believe in God in order to be good. But, what if God is a hypocrite? Death is told by scientist to mean the end of life, but what if death is just a step in life. How do scientist know the meaning of death if they have never visited death? Over the years, the meanings of word God and death changes. The historical and social influences of the world causes words to mean different things over time.
According to the ancient Hebrew text, God is defined as the good creator of all things. God is divine and wants to be consider a father to all things living on earth (Meyer, 2016, p.3). God is a super natural being that promise deliverance and good things to people who believe in God (Meyer, 2016, p.3). God wants you to pray to him when you are in need or want guidance. God is good and God teaches man to be good. God expects people to love their families because God takes care of people. God generally means good supreme being.
The social influences of the word “God” indicate that God is a hypocrite. God is suppose to make the world fair for everybody living in it. But, God does not make it fair for everyone living in it. There will come a time when someone might assume that God does not exist. Unfair social situations would make someone assume that “God” is a metaphor and not a real person. God stands for something that takes care of people (Meyer, 2016, p.3). But, God does not take care of the world because is filled with chaos. Anyone who turns on the news would see hypocrites left and right. They would see people being humiliated or people being mistreated for no reason. Is there a God who is good? Maybe there is a God is who is good. But, there is no God who manages the evil things going on in the world. The Christian God only exist in a metaphor sense. The word “God” comes from a group of people who want to believe that there is a good being who makes the world a better place.
What is death? Death according to Old English, is the person or thing that cause death (Harper, 2001-2017). Death is a ghost or spirit that you see when your about to die. According to general science, death is the end of life or existence. Death can be sudden and is not something that is planned (Ekore, 2016, p.370). Death is something that people cry over. Death is the point when you realize you need to preform some unfinished business. Death is the end to some that have faith in nothing. Religion provides death answers to that humans have before death (Ekore, 2016, p.370). However, religion is not guaranteed to tell the truth about death. The truth about death depends on what someone chooses to believe.
According to African cultures, death is a path to the next world (Ekore, 2016, p.370). The next world is called “Spiritual World.” The spiritual world will provide you with a new body. However, if an individual did not live an interesting life, then the individual will not be given a new body (Ekore, 2016, p.370). The person must also receive a proper burial or they might become a wandering ghost in the real world. The proper burial that a person is buried in will provide a safe passage to the next life. The end of life goal for an individual should be to become an ancestor according to some African cultures (Ekore, 2016, p.370).
Death is a mystery and it means something to everyone’s life. Death is the end of everything you see with your eyes. Death is the end of living on one plane of existence. Death is the end of relationships and accomplishments. Death is the end of thinking. Death is the end of dreams or trying to accomplish dreams. Death is end of what life could have been. Death is end of a friend you care about.
What controls death? People do not die for no reason. There has to be a spirit or being that causes death. The Grim Reaper is an old folk tale that claims to represent a spirit that see you when your about to die. The reaper is a empty skeleton that you see on the day you die. There are European rumors that suggest that you can make a deal with the reaper to live a little longer. We do not know why people die because we do not know what causes humans to die randomly. We come up with theories, but we do not know why. Death is a mystery.
God and death are words that was brought into the English language to describe something important about humans. God was brought in to tell humans how to be good. There is no one managing the world. So, God would be something that exist in a “metaphor” sense. God teaches good morals that would make a man good. But, he doesn't manage the world right. The word death was brought in to describe the point where life ends and the point when you need to perform your last wishes. Death is caused by something because death can be random. Death is not something that is planned in someone’s life. The randomness of death can mean that the life is not about being the best. Life is about enjoying the day. The meanings of these two words are important. God and death signifies that someone teaches us good and someone kills us in this life. We humans do not understand why. But, we do need teachers of different type of jobs to help make the world balanced. Maybe that is the purpose of adding God and death to the English language.
