If I had a 5 year old son that urinate in bed, I would teach them how to use the rest room by using a method taught by my parents. My parents used punishment as a way to teach kids to use the bathroom properly. First, I would tell the him to go to the bathroom when he has to go to the bathroom. Next, I would tell him that “If you don’t go to the bathroom, I'm going to spank you.” Overtime the child will learn through force on how to go to the bathroom. Fear, teaches a child how to follow directions for certain objectives. Fear also teaches a child how to learn quickly. In modern times, the military uses fear as a method for keeping soldiers in line. If I had a five year old child, I would use force to teach them how to use the bathroom.
Response:
I never heard of someone using an alarm to teach a child how to use the bathroom. I mostly hear people teaching their kids by force. But, I suppose I never thought about using an alarm for a child. Your mom is very creative.
You want to teach your child how to use the bathroom by changing their drinking times. I think this process is interesting. I insist that you would also use force to teach your child how to use the bathroom. Children are very smart but you have to tell them something a 1000 times before they remember it. Using your method for teaching a child how to use the rest room is fine, but teaching a child by force works best in my own opinion.
