Dealing With Conflict: Describe your conflict and how you deal with it.

Work:

(cause)

I was on my way home from work and someone in the work place said a insult about me. I guess they didn’t like my choice of hair style. At the time of the insult I had an afro.

How did you handle it:

This happen to me before I started smoking cigarettes. When you do not smoke cigarettes or take some form of medication to keep you calm in stressful situations, you tend to get very emotional when you hear an insult. You can reprogram your brain to think in a way that can protect you against insults. But, when you first get insulted, you are not prepared for it. When I got insulted at my job, I responded nicely and in a agreeable way. If i would have went back in time I would have said something like so what. I feel like the society that we live in is now artificial. The realistic people get picked on. The people that pretend do not get picked on. But, you can only pretend for so long until you can not pretend anymore.

School

(cause)

There was a teacher that was making fun of my spelling errors. He was also making fun of the shirts I use to wear that had skulls on it. Now, I always thought that the people in the education filed would be the most respectful people. Well, I was wrong about this professor.

How did you handle it:

I dropped the class because I felt like the teacher was being a dick. He also gave me a lot of bad grades and it was the best thing to do. He talked about me so bad to the point where I couldn’t walk in that class room again. You know I run into a lot of people like this professor and over the years I have gotten use to dealing with them.

Home

(Cause)

One day my mom was yelling at me about the dishes.

How you handle it: \

I just told her that I only used one bowl. I do not see why I need to wash the dishes and clean up after other people. She yelled at me but everything is fine. I wish most people were like my mom. I can just talk to them and not have to worry about them using what I say against me. I met people are nice and stuff but not every day.

Are you happy about how you decided to deal with these conflicts?

Yes, I am happy about how I decided to deal with these conflicts. It shows that I am becoming a mature adult. Sometimes I do want to hit people but I feel like it won’t really fix the problem. You cut one head off and another one grows. I got to start focusing on my own life right now.
