There were many events that lead Caesar into power. One of the events that lead Caesar into power was the death of Crassus. Crasus, the former commander of the Roman Legion, was invading a territory commanded by the Parthian Empire. The senate of Rome did not approve of the invasion. Crassus wanted to gain more territory for Rome. Crassus invaded the forbidden territory and died on the battlefield. After Crassus died in the war, Caesar decided to take this opportunity to overthrow the republic of Rome to gain the emperor position. Caesar wanted to be the most powerful man in Rome. A chance arrived to take the throne and Caesar took it. He had to fight against the opposing roman citizens that disagreed with his decisions but his followers were more in number. Did Caesar make the right decision to overthrow Roman Republic:? It is very hard to say which person was worse or which person was wrong in this situation. The Roman Republic was invading other people’s lands and destroying records of other people’s cultures. The Romans overthrew the Egyptians. Destroyed some of their documents and stole some of their culture and valuable goods. Rome should have been overthrown and probably deserves to be overthrown. I am not saying that the Romans where better than the Egyptians because the Egyptians did things that were just as bad. But, Rome was destined to be overthrown by it’s own government or some other country. Caesar did the right thing by overthrowing Rome because the government of Rome deserved it. When you treat people in a bad way, the people are going to rebel against you. They will especially rebel against you if you punish them for immoral reasons. Throughout history many rebellions have started because people were being punished for immoral reasons. Caesar had a right to overthrow the republic of Rome. Rome in ancient times was not a country of peace. Rome was like an iron fist because if you didn't do what Rome told you to do, you was beaten and punished severely.
