I have to agree with your statement on people will believe something if you dumb it down. I think that people believe in God because it is dumb down and a religion being taught to some groups of people by force. Choosing a religion and believing in religion because its popular, it was forced, or it was the only religion being taught is different. Choosing a religion is very different from being peer pressured or forced to do it. If a person chooses their religion, than person chooses how they want to live their life.


I agree the teachings was probably easier to understand. When you are desperate, you want the simplest and easiest way to escape from your problems. It is not always the right way to fix your problems but it works most of the time. Sometimes easy is an option with hard but sometimes hard is the more beneficial option.
